Renovation of grade 2 17thC farmhouse kitchen and bathroom. Taken over from other builders. Lot of structural repairs to walls in kitchen, all walls stripped back, stitched with Helifix where needed, re-wired and re-plastered with traditional lime mortar and haired lime mortar. Also fitted new underfloor heating. Butress built to brace where supporting beam rests on wall plate.
In the bathroom almost all renovation work previously completed had to be re done, ie panelling removed and fitted properly and to line with window reveals cut back to original line and detail, lights removed, better lighting fitted. Complete new floor fitted, fixed via joist hangers bedded into walls, previously packed off false cieling below. New re-claimed floor fitted (level) awaiting completion of panelling and fitting of bathroom suite.
