Most of the internal work I do is simply to make a living space more liveable, constrained by what is structurally possible, practical and affordable. This ranges from structural alterations to custom made bookshelves, cupboards, doors and panelling.
In the barn conversions shown we used re-claimed oak from an old stable, that was de-nailed and cleaned up, then used to make a spiral staircase. Often the work I do is a mixture of old and new, for example using bead and butt panelling in a bathroom to be in keeping with the age of a house, but insulating behind it with Celotex. Or in the barns, a lot of re-claimed oak was used alongside fitting underfloor heating.
